“Sean’s energy and positivity would be a tremendous asset to Parksville’s city council”

    – Courtenay-Alberni Member of Parliament Gord Johns

It’s my privilege to have the opportunity to run for Parksville council.

Feel free to browse my Facebook profile, and send any community concerns or questions via Facebook messenger or email me at connect@electseanwood.ca.

I’ve been attending the Parksville City Council meetings in person for a little over 6 months, I’ve met separately with Ed, Doug and most Councillor candidates, and I’m ready to go to work for the people of Parksville.

I ran federally in 2019 for the Green Party of Canada, but it feels great to run nonpartisan.

Party politics often feel more divisive than ever.

Should I earn your vote, be assured that I will work well with either Ed or Doug and the final councillor candidates, in order to do my part in making the best decisions for the City of Parksville.

I strive to have a reputation of being a pleasure to work with, even if we have differing opinions, and will always aim to discuss things with the utmost respect.

I’m hearing concerns about access to primary healthcare and family doctors, affordable housing, the toxic drug supply, overdose and addiction crisis, supporting small businesses, public safety, and taking care of our rivers, trees and oceans.

I’m a small business owner as a logo designer, ( https://pacificlogo.ca/ ) my wife is a registered nurse working here in Parksville, and our two young boys attend elementary school here. We’ve lived in the community for 12 years. I’ve also spent 5 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Parksville Fire Department, where my goal was to keep my attendance top-notch.

I have good working relationships with both our MLA and our MP, including pushing for a better tax break for Canada’s volunteer firefighters and search and rescue personnel.

This petition was also backed by letters from many municipalities, including the City of Parksville.

Keeping our relationships at the regional, provincial, and federal levels as health as possible is exceptionally important to me.

One final thought, on Wednesday, October 5, Wednesday, October 12 or Saturday, October 15, be sure to vote and urge your friends and family to do the same. Voter apathy isn’t a good thing for our city, province or country.

I’m grateful to have the time and opportunity to put my name forward, and I look forward to chatting with you.

This election isn’t about me, it’s about being a strong representative for the people of Parksville.

    Thanks

    Sean Wood
